Summary of Position

We are hiring a dependable, client service-oriented Marketing Support Specialist for part-time remote work with the ability to grow the role into a full-time position. The Marketing Support Specialist can expect to work closely with the company president, vice president, creative team, and clients. This is a virtual trafficking position with daily phone, Zoom, and email communication with our team.

Compensation

As an independent contractor, you would receive a monthly stipend for a set PT allotment of management hours, plus additional compensation for time above that contracted allotment.

Responsibilities for Marketing Support Specialist

  • Assist our Account Management team in the proactive management of our client’s work.
  • Focus on accurate and timely delivery across a variety of media.
  • Conduct market research and identify opportunities for clients.
  • Effectively manage daily administrative tasks that range from communicating job specs to printers to recording billing details to managing ad design creation with a graphic designer.
  • Collaborates with the team to learn more about new project details and provides progress updates on existing projects, communicating any issues.
  • Creates detailed schedules and set deadlines for various stages of project(s).
  • Review and analyze competitive bids from multiple vendors to compare pricing, specifications, deadlines and more.
  • Distributes assignments to creative teams and other departments, depending on availability and priorities.
  • Works across multiple projects and ensures all parties are informed of progress and potential issues.
  • Monitors projects and workloads, adjusting assignments and deadlines accordingly.
  • Manages a wide variety of requests with competing deadlines and limited resources.
  • Manages and maintains project calendar.
  • Maintains job files from job commencement, to filing design files on the cloud, to working with bookkeeping to assess if all bills have been received.
  • Schedules and conducts regular production meetings and status updates.
  • Monitors current traffic processes and inputs ideas on how to improve current practices, where required.
  • Builds effective relationships with key vendors and works cross-functionally.
  • Collaborates with freelancers and contractors and ensures partners have the resources needed for their jobs.
  • Manage special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, or related fields preferred
  • Active interest in all things marketing
  • Experience with marketing in a co-op, internship, or senior project
  • Proven traffic or project management skills
  • Working knowledge of all areas of marketing: communications, public relations, online ad management, SEO, print ad management, publication management, fundraising, etc.
  • Above average time management skills
  • Ability to multitask, organize and collaborate
  • Ability to manage the creative process from start to finish
  • Strong decision-making and prioritization skills to ensure everything runs smoothly
  • Strong proofreading and presentation skills
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous traffic experience is a plus
  • Impressive copy writing skills is a big plus

Essential Skills

  • Ability to assist account management teams on core business elements
  • Regular communication with team members to build trust, confidence and manage expectations
  • Develop presentations for the team to share with clients
  • Ability to anticipate team member needs

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with WordPress, Mail Chimp, Google DataStudio or Adobe Suite would be a plus
  • General curiosity and desire to explore digital mediums
