From Beth
Praying through the A.C.T.S. model (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) has profoundly impacted my life. Prayer is a humble, daily conversation with God. Each prayer component is explored: adoration acknowledges God’s greatness, confession highlights the necessity of admitting sins for spiritual growth, thanksgiving emphasizes gratitude for God’s blessings, and supplication involves presenting personal requests aligned with God’s will. These conversations with God are found in The Lord’s Prayer, reaffirming its guidance in prayer life.
When the disciples said to Jesus “Teach us how to pray,” He led them in what we call The Lord’s Prayer in Luke 11. You will see A.C.T.S. woven within this beautiful prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever, Amen.
